The newly renovated Hilton Cancun Golf & Spa Resort is located in the heart of Cancun's Hotel Zone. It is an 18-hole, par 72 course surrounded by Mayan Ruins, lush mangroves from the Nichupte Lagoon, indigenous flora and and exotic wildlife, including crocodiles, iguanas, wild peacocks and several tropical birds.
The club reopened in late 2006 after a $6 million renovation. In addition to redesigning several of the holes, there was a full turf replacement with Paspalum Sea Isle 1, a salt tolerant, hardy grass that maintains perfect conditions even during the hottest months of the year.
The only resort in Cancun with Par 72 Golf course, Hilton Cancun Golf Course is the premier spot to test your skills and improve your game. As you move from hole to hole, you can't help but be amazed by the deep blue waters of the Nichupte lagoon, this magnificent lagoon has several smaller lagoons that branch off to create the water hazards that help make this course so unique and challenging.
After teeing off from Hole number 16, take a moment to look at the Ancient Mayan Ruins and the diverse wildlife that lives on the golf course's grounds, from peacocks to crocodiles, iguanas to eagles. There isn't a course in Cancun that can rival the natural wonders and beauty of Hilton Cancun Golf Club.
Almost every hole features one or more water hazards so make sure you take plenty of balls with you. However, don't try to retrieve your balls if the do go into a hazard, as they are home to a large number of american crocodiles. The course also has a large population of iguanas that scamper across the bunkers.
Set in a 150-acre tropical paradise, the world class golf course is open to Hilton hotel guests and non-registered Cancun visitors and groups. Every level of golf enthusiasts, from scratch players to high-handicappers, will enjoy playing this reinvigorated course. The Hilton Cancun golf resort also built a new driving range and putting green, a top-quality pro shop offering the latest in golf equipment, fashion and apparel.
The 19th hole Clubhouse and Restaurant, serves delicious meals and snacks beginning at sunrise and continuing throughout the day. The club offers Hilton guests special benefits, including preferential tee times, and discounted green fees. Transportation is available from the hotel to the golf course, conveniently located only a minute cart ride away via an underground tunnel from the resort's main lobby. Golfer's do not need to bring the own clubs, for $50 you can rent Calloway or Titleist clubs amongst others from the pro shop.
