The latest addition to the Fancourt Golf & Country Club is the Bramble Hill course which has a character all of its own. It was designed to give the visitor a true Fancourt experience by incorporating a mixture of features, including typically British links features.
At 6262 Yards, par 72 from the back tees the Gary Player designed course is a demanding but fair test of golf set in beautiful surroundings. The generous fairways and fast bent grass greens give a taste of the type of course, which is popular on the US tour.
The course shares many characteristics with its highly pedigreed sibling The Links, with undulating fairways, raised greens and a number of treacherous water hazards and can be exposed to the typically fresh Southern Cape winds.
This course has its drama in the some times severe undulations of the terrain, however the bonus of these challenges is that the golfer will marvel at the scenic backdrops and vistas over both the area and the holes.
Unlike the other 3 courses at Fancourt, Bramble Hill is truly a public golf course in the sense that there are no restrictions on who can play at any given time. The course itself is challenging enough to test the most proficient golfer, yet it is sure to be an enjoyable round even for beginners. Bramble Hill offers a friendly and relaxed golf experience.
