The beautiful landscape and views of the Mar Menor and Murcians hills make this an excellent and challenging course. Superbly manicured greens with many hidden undulations complement the beautifully shaped fairways with many hazards including deep ravines and lakes keen to trap the wayward shot.
Another Robert D. Putman designed layout, the North Course has recently been completely revamped making it an infinite improvement on its previous reincarnation. An undulating championship course sprawling between palm trees, lakes and barrancas, the North Course relies on precision rather than length, an added hazard is provided by the 'barrancas' (storm gullies) that snake their way through the course. The North Course offers a different, but yet no less challenging round of golf to the South Course, with fine fairways and interesting greens.
A feature of the newly constructed greens, all built to USGA specification, is the amount of movement incorporated in them, none more so than the short Par 3, 2nd, which has three distinct plateaux - a real test of putting. This golfing gem is sure to provide a tough test of shot making from golfers of all levels. A faint touch is also required on the faster, newly designed greens.
