Set amid serene pine woodlands, this wonderfully manicured, tree lined course is set in the rolling hillside overlooking La Manga Club. Its breathtaking views, undulating fairways and fast greens make this course particularly exciting course to play.
The West Course's design closely follows the natural contours of the undulating land. Its distinct character makes it a good alternative to the South Course, a more classical championship layout.
The West Course has frequent changes in elevation with which to contend, making it a slightly deceiving course. The challenge offered by this course is its narrow fairways, frequent blind shots and the 'barrancas' (natural storm gullies) which snake through the course. The tight front nine requires accurate driving to avoid the barrancas while the back nine, up amongst the hills, is more open but is still very challenging.
The West Course is many golfers' favourite, because of its unique setting, breathtaking views, and undulating fairways and fast greens, which make this course particularly exciting to play. Unlike a lot of courses, golfers feel that every aspect of their game has been tested to the full on the west course. The Par 3 holes are a collection of probably the best short holes to be found anywhere on one golf course. Accuracy and good golf course management are very much a premium here, with the requirement of long hitting of the tee not quite so essential.
Those who get the better of the charming and elusive West Course will have played a memorable round. You will definitely be mesmerized by the golfing experience provided by the La Manga Club, making it the perfect location to spend a Golfing holiday in Spain.
