Hindhead Golf Club has a fascinating history. The club was first inaugurated in 1904 by a group of golfing enthusiasts that included Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle, who later became the first club President.
The Hindhead Golf Course is an 18-hole heathland layout that has played host to the qualifying stages for the Open Championship. Set over two valleys and in fantastic condition all year long, the front nine snakes its way through majestic valleys formed during the Ice Age, emerging to the hillside plateau of the back nine.
Undoubtedly, the front nine is the most dramatic and memorable, but the back nine is also built on ideal golfing terrain. The setting alone creates a truly unforgettable golfing experience. The golf course is immaculately maintained, and without doubt Hindhead is one of the best courses never to have appeared on a Top 100 Golf Courses list.
