Running alongside the salt water inlet from which it takes its name, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club has recently undergone a major redevelopment, transforming it into a true golfers' paradise. The championship course, which has twice hosted the Dubai Desert Classic (1999 and 2000), offers a real challenge to every level of golfer, and was voted one of the top 100 must play golf courses in the world by UK magazine Golf World in 2005.
The championship golf course is the centrepiece of a resort that now incorporates the luxury 225-bedroom Park Hyatt Dubai, 92 four-bedroom executive villas, a 121-berth marina, yacht club, golf clubhouse, six award-winning restaurants, gym and leisure swimming pool. The resort also incorporates a floodlit 9 hole Par 3 course and driving range, hi-tech swing analysis studio and extensive short game practice facilities.
Recently redesigned by European Golf Design in association with Thomas Björn, the course boasts a new front nine and re-modelled back nine. The 18 hole par 71 course undulates along well-groomed fairways lined with palms and shrubbery that lends a distinctly tropical air, despite its city centre location. In addition there are numerous internal man made lakes to add to the hazards.
Renowned for it's immaculately groomed fairways and greens, the Dubai Creek presents a tough challenge from the tournament tees but is suitable for all levels of golfer from the selection of forward tee locations.
