Played April 2006. Found the staff extremely pleasant and professional. Caddy(Bob)greatly enhanced our experience and made it the most memorable golf experiences of my life. He provided a lesson in golf history of the course as well as helped keep my score in line. Wind in your face on the way out at your back on the way in. Helps with the long par 3's and fours.Afterward, a pint and a cigar in the well appointed lounge. Life couldn't get any better.

This golf course is really tough to play. The Championship course is very long, playing at 7364 yards (6734 meters)from the Championship Tees. Hitting fairways is also very important at this golf course. IF you don't hit the ball in the fairway, you can score a big number. The rough is very difficult, so I rate it a 10. I think the hazards are extremely difficult as well. The clubhouse is excellent in every single place. However, the golf course is very expensive just to play a round of golf. The Handicap Limit for the Championship Course for Men is a 28 and for Ladies it is a 36. There are two other golf courses as well for the higher handicappers. Overall, I think everything at Carnoustie is in excellent condition.

By far the toughest gold course I have ever seen. Rated the rough a 10 because that's what it is, ROUGH! Hit a ball there and you'll never hit it out. I played with a friend who lost 9 balls in 13 holes. Laughable unless you're there. Nothing like it anywhere!.
