Turnberry, Kintyre

April 2007

I was lucky enough to stay at the Turnberry resort for a weekend in April I played both the Kintyre and Ailsa courses. The Kintyre course is a great one in its own right, and in ten years time could have a reputation to match the Ailsa's. I played the Kintyre course first and was very impressed with the conditions of the fairways and greens, some of the views are the best you will see on any course in the UK. Bunkers are placed intelligently and the course was a real test one of our playing partner's must of visited at least half the bunkers on the course. The 18th is a great finishing hole especially if your having a close game and a better end to a round than the Ailsa's 18th.
